Features and Benefits
Silicone is ideal for making reusable molds. The extremely stable, yet flexible material can be used particularly well in mold and model making. Thanks to the advantageous properties of silicone rubber, even complex objects with multi-dimensional undercuts can be perfectly reproduced in great detail.
DIY! Make your own silicone molds and models
Silicone molds can be made quickly and easily by yourself. The two-component liquid silicone is mixed in the specified mixing ratio and then poured into the intended shape over the object to be duplicated. After curing, the mold can then be filled with the appropriate casting compound.

Silicone rubber type 2
Silicone rubber type 2 is particularly well suited for molds of medium to large models and is characterized by its longer service life when casting with casting resin (resin) and concrete.
Application areas:
- Impressions of original models made of wood, glass, metal, wax, ceramic casting compounds and plastic
- Medium-hard molds for medium to large objects over 30cm
- Molding compound for models in industry, prototyping, rapid prototyping
- Production of one or two-piece candle molds over 20cm
- Molds for the lost wax casting process
- Making molds for concrete (DIY concrete casting)
- Pouring silicone into a silicone mold (using TFC separating petroleum jelly)
Application Materials:
- Water-soluble casting materials: Xyrarock, Stewalin, Plastalin Super, Keraflott or plaster, Keramin, Alabit, modeling and modeling plaster, casting stone, cement, concrete, etc.
That's how it works!
For the production of silicone molds, it is first necessary to determine what you want to duplicate and what casting material the object will be made of. This is of great importance as there are different types of silicone with different degrees of hardness and flexibility. Heat resistance is also an important factor. Pay attention to the areas of application and the individual product properties of the silicones in the respective descriptions.
